Hi! My name is Mrs. Jessica
Ory. I am thrilled to being your child’s 3rd grade teacher
for this school year! This will be my 4th year teaching and my first at Forest Creek Elementary. I most recently worked at Quitman ISD as a 4th grade reading teacher. I am excited to transition and explore all the subjects with your students!
Childhood:
I grew up in Fredericksburg, Texas. There I attended Heritage School
for my Kindergarten to senior year education. I am the oldest of five crazy
kids, all of whom have “J” names. What fun! My parents instilled in me a great
desire to learn, do my best, and strive for my goals in life. I have wanted to
be a teacher since I was a little girl, and I love coming to my dream job every
day. J
Family:
My family includes my fabulous husband, Taylor, our 8 week old son, Jason, and our mischievous puppy, Dallas. We whole-hearted find joy in our faith, friends, family, and community. We love people and are passionate about and feel called to help others make and achieve their dreams.
Education:
I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from the University
of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas. Go CRU!!! I greatly enjoyed
participating in a couple of leadership organizations and ministries on campus
as well as working with students during my student teaching opportunities.
During my student teaching, I
had the opportunity to work with K-5 students in the Killeen, Temple, Belton, and
Holland school districts.
I believe in creating a learning community were students facilitate each others' learning while taking ownership of their own. By building a community of respect and hard work, the students can proudly share their thoughts and ideas knowing they'll be heard. I believe every child can learn and that learning at different paces and in different ways stretches and grows the group for everyone's benefit, offering new and varying ways of looking at problem solving and information. I believe in creating life-long learners, who, when faced with challenge, will seek out answers for themselves and share what they discover. We're in this year together and will come out on top. We're one in a minion. :)
